The proposed design has a canopy, and includes seating, ticket machines, passenger help point, a timber clad tower and glazed windscreen to protect passengers, lighting, public address system, information boards and displays, but no toilets. There are likely to be detail changes as the project proceeds.

There will be a single platform able to take 5-carriage trains but they will be 3-carriage initially. About 161 parking spaces will be provided at Portishead.
